In a bid to retain its top-rated drugs, Pfizer announced on Tuesday it was stepping up its efforts to stop the pharmaceutical company from taking on an aggressive lobbying campaign by rival Sprout and other drugs to promote its erectile dysfunction drug, Viagra.
The move by the drug giant and Sprout, which was sued by the drug giant last year by its supporters, comes amid a legal battle over whether Viagra is legal to sell under state patents.
The fight comes as a new lawsuit by Sprout and other companies is pending in the U. S. District Court in New Jersey, where the suit alleges the companies are using a state law to block the sales of their drugs.
